My personal hero is a former brand marketing client and one of my life mentors, an exceptional woman who inspires me with her innovative mindset, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. She holds a Ph.D. in oceanography and later became an environmental science advisor to the U.S. government. Though our fields are vastly different, her career journey from academia to policy advisory—stepping beyond the traditional boundaries of her academic field to make a real impact—resonates deeply with me. Her purpose-driven approach challenges me to consider how I, as a marketing professional, can make a meaningful impact. I believe it lies in using the right strategies to convey powerful messages, creating genuine and memorable connections, which fuels my commitment to making a positive difference in my field.

In practice, this means continuously weighing strengths and weaknesses, balancing various needs, and negotiating with stakeholders to achieve both our objectives and a win-win outcome.
